The One Who Never Changes
When belief in God is not the ground, we do not believe in nothing. We believe in anything, and the water will not hold.

When people don’t believe in God, they don’t believe in nothing; they believe in anything.G.K. Chesterton
To go through life is to be pressured to believe in as many things as can be pushed into our minds. Opinion and belief shift as wind and turbulent waters do. Walking through life is adapting and adjusting to the external stimuli we are experiencing. The following question must be asked, though: toward what are we adapting and adjusting?
When we do not have the foundational belief in God, Yahweh, we find ourselves being tossed around by the confused, riotous waters of life. The belief in God is both foundational and the highest aim to which one can be oriented. From both a societal and a personal perspective, when belief and submission to God are not the aim and the grounding, things spiral into chaos. That chaos is confusion and disorientation. People end up in a downward plummet into belief in anything instead of the One who brings order to the chaos in our lives.
We look up and to God because, through focusing on His face, we are able to walk on the unsettled waters of life. We adapt and change for Him and to Him. Life is chaos and ever-changing, so we must look to the One who never changes.
